BIOGRAPHY

The Tamarack String Quartet members are Matthew Armburst and Norma Shull, violinists, Anna Dooley, violist, and Pam Hunt cellist.  All members live and work in the Methow Valley.

First violinist Matt Armbrust is a composer and arranger.  He has a private teaching studio of violin, viola and cello in Twisp.

Second violinist Norma Shull is a dental hygienist by profession, but has played violin since age 7 when she was inspired by a performance. She played all through her school years but put it on hold for several years while working and raising a family. She has been playing with the Pipestone Orchestra since it first started some 25 yrs ago and still enjoys playing with them. She is currently second violinist. Norma joined the Tamarack Quartet in 2016.

Violist Anna Dooely is an industrial designer at Eqpd in Twisp.  She is also an accomplished violist.

Cellist Pam Hunt is a registered Suzuki teacher for violin, viola and cello.  She has a busy studio at the Pipestone School of Music, which she founded in1998 with her guitarist husband, Terry Hunt.  Pam directs the Pipestone Youth Orchestra, as well as the Pipestone Sumer Music Camp.  Pam also runs the strings program at the Methow Valley Schools.
